Yeo Vale Forest School runs after school clubs for Infants and Juniors in 3 different schools in Yatton and Backwell. We keep the numbers low to ensure every child can benefit from their time in the woods.
We deliver weekly or one off sessions in Pre-Schools. We have had lots of fun with Steppping Stones Pre-School in Claverham, Fairfield Nursery in Backwell and St Francis's Pre-School in Nailsea.
We facilitate 1:1 SEN sessions at our woodland sites. These can also take place in schools.
We had the privilege of facilitating Forest School sessions for five SEN children over the Spring and Summer months. Please get in touch to find out more.
We offer set and bespoke packages for schools during the day. Examples include an hour's workshop every week as part of 'Learning College', an afternoon or day for the whole school once a term or several mornings in one week for 'Wild Week'. We deliver weekly sessions throughout the whole school year in St Francis's in Nailsea and Fairfield Primary in Backwell.
Bushcraft workshops with fire-lighting and den-building are always popular. The well-managed risks empower and increase resilience in our young people.
We also deliver off-site Adventure Days. Children relish the opportunity to explore, play, investigate and learn in an unfamiliar setting, and we can incorporate topics to match the curriculum such as:
'The Stone Age' with Atl Atl making and cave art.
'Ancient Greeks' with pottery making and open fire cooking.
'The Egyptians' with Hieroglyphic carvings and pulley systems.
