Join us in our private woodland for an introduction to navigation and bushcraft, including basic map-reading skills, fire-lighting and outdoor cooking.
Open to adults and older teenagers, our one day expedition is set in and around the beautiful Goblin Combe Nature Reserve. We will meet in the Goblin Combe car park by Plunder Street at 9am and return to there by 5pm. You could join us for a half-day bushcraft adventure 11am - 3pm if you don't wish to walk. (Please contact us to make a booking for the shorter day. Ticket price is 50% of the full day).
The day will begin with a gentle 2 hour walk through Goblin Combe, where you will learn basic map reading techniques in small groups from two experienced and well qualified instructors. The walk will lead to magnificent views across Wrington and cover the skills you need to not get lost when out in the woods on your own.
On arrival at base camp, you will take part in a range of bushcraft skills with our Forest School leader. We will make lunch together over the fire, learn fire-lighting and whittling techniques and spend time simply relaxing and chatting in the woods. Some may wish to learn essential knots, whilst others may choose to identify the different trees and plants. Those attending the half-day event will complete this part only. (Please contact us to make a booking for the shorter day. Ticket price is 50% of the full day).
Our day will finish by completing the circular walk back through Goblin Combe to the car park. We can't think of a better way to emerge from lockdown and to meet new people.
