About Us

Established in January 2018, our aim is to build imagination, self-esteem and active, healthy lifestyles in the natural environment.

We are a small team of qualified and experienced Level 3 Forest School Leaders. We are trained in outdoor First Aid, insured by Birnbeck and we hold portable DBS.

Chloe Brown: Chloe is a qualified teacher, Scout Leader and former Army Officer.  She has 20+ years experience of teaching and training both adults and children. Chloe holds the Certificate in Therapeutic Skills for Outdoor Leaders and leads weekly 1:1 SEN sessions.

Helen Grice-Roberts: Helen is a retired dental nurse and Cub Leader.  She holds a Diploma in Health and Social Welfare, and has experience of working with vulnerable children and adults. Helen is a keen open water swimmer who braves the sea all year round.

All of our sessions follow the procedures outlined in the Yeo Vale Forest School handbook.  Each session is risk assessed and planned to suit the individual needs of the group.

We are always keen to update our own skills and knowledge.  We have enjoyed a 'Fire and Feast' workshop with Go Wild Education in Tintern and the Autism Awareness at Forest School Workshop with Hedge-u-cation. We used our time during lockdown to complete diplomas in First Aid for Mental Health and Sensory Processing Disorder Awareness.
